Nick & Dianne’s Intimate Wedding at Hotel Endsleigh, Tavistock

Nick and Dianne reached out just a few weeks before their wedding at Hotel Endsleigh, nestled in the beautiful Tamar Valley on the border between Devon and Cornwall. They had decided that they wanted a professional Devon wedding photographer to ensure the day was captured perfectly, without placing any added responsibility on their guests.

Hotel Endsleigh already held a special place in Nick and Dianne's hearts, as it was the spot where Nick proposed. That same weekend, they knew this breathtaking venue in Tamar Valley would be the perfect setting for their intimate wedding.

With my approach to limiting the number of weddings I take on each year, I was delighted to be available for their request. It's important to me to give each couple my full attention, ensuring I deliver the best possible experience as their Devon wedding photographer.

Having previously visited Hotel Endsleigh for an Afternoon Tea and a stroll through the gardens with Emily, I knew this venue would provide a magical backdrop for their special day. The natural beauty of the Tamar Valley never fails to impress, and it was clear from the start that this would be a wedding to remember.

The wedding day itself was intimate and heartwarming. Nick and Di were surrounded by just 11 of their closest friends and, of course, their beloved dogs. The relaxed atmosphere of an intimate elopement wedding in Devon allowed everyone to truly enjoy the day without the formality of a larger celebration.

Di entered the library where the ceremony was held, looking absolutely stunning. Nick's expression said it all—his eyes lit up, and the grin on his face was pure joy. Capturing moments like these is why I love being a candid wedding photographer.

The ceremony was filled with laughter and emotion, creating the perfect atmosphere for natural wedding photography. Afterward, we moved to the gardens, where guests enjoyed canapés and I was able to capture some beautiful moments with the couple and their friends. This also gave me the opportunity to spend a few quiet minutes with Nick and Di, photographing them in the peaceful surroundings of Hotel Endsleigh's gardens.

As we wandered, other hotel guests stopped to offer their congratulations, even taking a few photos for their holiday albums—a charming reminder of the welcoming atmosphere at this Devon wedding venue.

Later in the afternoon, the speeches brought more laughter and even a few tears of joy. It's always such a privilege to be there for these intimate moments, capturing the smiles and emotion that fill the room.
