Spring Wedding at Rockbeare Manor – A Perfect Start to 2026
A Spring Wedding at Rockbeare Manor – A Perfect Start to 2026
There’s something special about stepping into wedding season after the quiet of winter. On 14th March 2026, I had the joy of photographing my first wedding of the year at Rockbeare Manor, just outside Exeter – a venue that feels like it belongs in a storybook.
This wasn’t my first time here, but every visit reminds me why Rockbeare holds such a strong place in my heart. With its elegant manor house and sprawling grounds that invite you to wander, it’s a setting that feels calm and timeless. And in early spring, when the daffodils start to wake up, the place has a fresh sense of promise — the perfect backdrop for a wedding day.
The Charm of Rockbeare Manor
Rockbeare is a venue that seems to know how to do every moment justice. The light streams through those tall windows beautifully, and when sunset comes, it’s always something to savour. Late in the afternoon, when the sun dips behind the rolling hills, the whole place takes on this warm, golden glow that feels like nature’s way of closing the day with a smile.
A Stroll Through Meadows and Daffodils
One of my favourite spots here is the wild meadow at the front of the house. In March, the daffodils scatter the grass in bursts of yellow – a simple but magical touch that suits the season. It’s a space where couples can escape the bustle of the day for a quiet moment, framed by nature and big skies.
Food and Sunset Moments
When the day moves inside, the elegance continues. Rockbeare isn’t just about looks – the food here is always outstanding. There’s a calm precision to how the team works, and it shows in everything from the setting of the tables to the plates that arrive. Then, as the evening light expands over the grounds, you find yourself back by those tall windows, watching the sky shift through shades of amber and pink.
Looking Ahead
This wedding was the perfect way to begin 2026. Rockbeare is one of those venues that never feels the same twice, and I’m thrilled to be heading back here a few more times this year. Each couple brings their own energy, and every season changes the frame.
If you’re planning your own celebration at Rockbeare Manor and would like someone who knows the spaces, the light, and the little details that make it shine, I’d love to hear from you. Take a look at my other wedding photography in Devon or get in touch to talk about your plans.
